When the concept for Third Gate was born, we wanted to bring a new way of thinking about self defense to the New Orleans community. We saw an opportunity to build confidence, promote equality, and teach people from all walks of life to defend themselves, regardless of strength or ability.

Over the years, we’ve discovered that different people have different aspirations when they set out to learn self defense. Some want to escape a hostile situation, while others aim to fight back or learn to protect their loved ones. Click below to learn more about our levels of training.

While many schools teach Krav Maga for self-defense, the Third Gate Defense System is unique. Our founders used their years of experience teaching Krav Maga for self-defense to craft an advancement system based on student ability and preference.
